Your stories are yours
- You own everything you create on LastingMind: your stories, recordings, photos, and voice.
- We use your content only to run the app for you.
- We never sell your data, and we never let anyone use it to train outside AI models.
You decide who sees it
- Only the people you invite can see your stories.
- People you invite can invite others too, and you’ll see exactly who invited whom.
- You can remove anyone from your audience at any time.
- Anyone in your audience can remove the people they invited.
When you’re gone
- Your stories stay with the people you shared them with. That’s why you’re here.
- Family can let us know through the app, and your page becomes a memorial.
- Your estate’s executor can request a copy of your stories or ask us to delete them.
- If there’s ever a disagreement, our team works with your family to resolve it.
If LastingMind is ever acquired
- Any company that buys LastingMind must keep these promises for everything you’ve already shared.
- We will never change how your data is used without asking you first. Your silence never counts as a yes.
- You’ll get at least 30 days’ notice before any change of ownership, with the option to download everything or delete your account.
- This isn’t just our word: U.S. regulators expect companies to honor the privacy promises made when data was collected.
If LastingMind ever shuts down
- You can download everything anytime, not just if we close.
- Your download includes all your original files, stories, recordings, and photos, and it works without LastingMind, forever. Coming soon: a finished book of your stories with the audio included.
- You’ll get at least 90 days’ notice, with time to download everything.
- After that, we delete all your data, including your voice model.
- Your data will never be sold, even in bankruptcy.
